Thailand Travelogue- Part 1

Finally we have our family trip after so many years. Our last family trip was during my schooling time. Yeah i know it was many years back when everyone has time for each other.

Sis bought a deal from website and we managed to get everyone of us to travel together. So we played our part to take leave and travel together. We traveled by Thai Airways and the deal was exclude the airport tax which we need to pay additional S$190 per person.
And we are flying off to Thailand!
Always a snap of the blue sky on the flight.

Random picture of us while waiting to board the flight.
First time travelling with Thai Airways and the services are good. I love the food on the plane! How colourful isn't it? Their chicken noodles and fish rice are delicious!

Finally we reached Bangkok and we took a cab to the boutique hotel which we bought together with the deal. The hotel named The Bedrooms Hotel is a newly boutique hotel which we are pleased with their services. The staffs are friendly and the hotel is new as well.

After we settle down with our luggages, we headed to Terminal 21 which is the new shopping mall at Bangkok. It is accessible through train and it is located at Sukhumvit 21 and train station named Asoke.

Each floor of the shopping mall has various themes of different cities around the world. It is like travelling to different venues at the same place. Something new and interesting.

After window shopping at Terminal 21, we headed for dinner at Cabbages & Condoms restaurant. It is famous with it's theme and concept that serves Thailand foods.

There are various of condoms used to design and decorate the restaurant.
There is also statues that uses condom to create it.

Kra Thong Thong THB 100
Minced chicken and corn served in waffles cup.
It served as appetizer and quite refreshing for us. Love the crispiness of the waffle and goes well with the minced chicken and corn.

Kai Tai Ka THB200
Pan-grilled chicken of lemongrass and herbs with special topping sauce. Something new to us as the sauce is quite refreshing with bit of sweet and not so spicy taste to blend with the chicken.

Guess what is this? It's the Kao Niew-sticky rice THB25 per serving.

Pla Ka Pong Red Sauce Num Pla THB350
Deep-fried whole seabass served with special chilli sauce. The chilli sauce is combination of various chillies, sliced onions and other ingredients that goes well with the fish meat. It added flavour to the seabass fish.

Tom Yam Gung THB180
Thai Spicy shrimp soup base seasoned with chillies, lime, lemongrass and galanga.
Truly experience the taste of thailand tom yam which is different from the ones we tried.
Very delicious and yummy!

Poo Nim Phad Pong Kari THB 300
Deep fried soft shell crab with yellow curry paste and bellchilli. In love with the sauce and it goes extremely well with the soft shell crab.Nice presentation and nice taste.
Not too spicy for us as well.

Glass noodle with crab which i forgotten the actual name of the dish.
But definitely different style of cooking with the ones we tried locally. The glass noodle here is more fragrance and it added the spice of their own specialties.

Gang Kiew Wan THB120
Chicken green curry which is rich of coconut milk and the taste is very strong!

The overall dinner was pleasant and it was hard time for us to find the restaurant as it is hidden in one of the lorong. We walked the whole day and it is naturally to feel tired especially my parents. They are quite accommodating as we took public transport most of the time to each location.

So day 1 at Bangkok is quite relaxing as we reached Bangkok in the afternoon. We just want to have a slow pace day. That's how we spend a day on Bangkok.
