Shenzhen back to Guangzhou

Jz back from Tioman Trip on Monday and back to work..

This is my last post for my china trip. We took an hr train back to guangzhou instead of taking bus. The train cost is slightly higher than the bus fare by RMB3-RMB difference only. We took bus from Longgang to Shenzhen railway station cum custom to HK. Too bad i can only see the signature but cannot go..haha!Anyway, u can see the photos below to share my experience.The distance is just like JB to Singapore.

Photos taken at the railway station cum interchange bus station as well. It's huge place and full of people moving in and out. Plus weather is bad.Raining heavily and i need to bring umbrella along. We bought our train ticket to guangzhou and placed our luggage at luggage centre before heading to Dongguan (largest shopping centre area in Shenzhen).

The town area is crowded with people.Random photos taken at Dongguan.I didnt buy anything there coz the quality of the clothes is not tat good also although it's cheap. So, jz look around and bought a pair of scandal coz my sport shoes are very wet.

I took this pic just because i wanna have the police car snapshot.haha!Coz China ppl dun allow ppl take photo of their stall, car or watever la.So, no choice i have to pretend to take picture lo..hehe!

We shopped like 2hrs and back to the station and took a train to Guangzhou. It's like MRT system in Singapore and Malaysia. It's fully air-con as well.

I took this pic coz i wanna show how generous they are in giving away free mineral water in the railway station.It's so convenient for passengers who is going for an hr or more journey. It's a service which we don't get in Singapore nor in Malaysia.Plus point i guess...

The duplicate photo of the bullet train we took from Shenzhen to Guangzhou.It's very new and look so pro,right?All i can said that Shenzhen is an international city and it's modernized.haha!

Once we reached, we book a hotel room nearby and i took a bus to airport the following day.It's a good exposure and i get to know the culture there and also the people there also. It's totally different from people in S'pore and M'sia. It's feel good to be back home and i still prefer here in S'pore and M'sia *grins*

China Folk Culture Villages

Introducing the China Folk Culture Village in Shenzhen!

As we all know, China is a big and united family made up of 56 ethnic groups. Geographically speaking, they are distributed in different parts of China with the resulting difficulty of experiencing each ethnic group's architecture, their festivals and tasting their snacks during one of your visits. But the China Folk Cultural Village, lying at the Overseas Chinese Town, Shenzhen, will help solve this problem.

Woke up quite late that day and we took 2hrs journey as usual to reach there.We bought the entrance ticket at RMB120 per pax.We had our lunch nearby before we moved into the miniatures theme park.

We had a good bargain for our lunch (Lunch around RMB78 if not mistaken).The restaurant provides us complimentary dessert after our main course. We had spicy tofu (really very spicy til we never touched it after a few round), Fried chicken which is super nice. Taste like fried prawn. I think because of the different part of chicken meat they used to cook and blends well with the special pepper to go with it. Then we have 'zhu du' pig's stomach with vegetable.

After filling our stomach, we start our journey exploring the huge themepark. So far the weather has not failed us. (has not rain yet). So, u can see me here at the entrance of the village..

If u happen to go there, you will see a very long dragon at the entrance also..

There are the legendary chinese zodiac displayed and took every single one.

The Sheng xiao (Chinese: 生肖; pinyin: shēngxiào), better known as Chinese Zodiac, are 12 animals which are representative of years in some East Asian countries. Each year of the 12-year cycle is named after one of the original 12 animals. Each animal has a different personality and different characteristics.
Despite being called “Chinese zodiac”, it is not a variation of zodiac. The Chinese zodiac refers to a pure calendrical cycle; there are no equivalent constellations like those of the occidental zodiac.

The village comprises the chinese cultural since the dynasty and the workmanship is terrific. I can say that China people are very capable copying and craving the art.

It's quite fun to go around the places and see the actual legendary items and feel the ambience there. It's like back to the ancients time. If only we have the time machine..haha!



The village has the different chinese ethics buildings and indigenous people who is living in China for the past millions thousands of year. It's really a very long history and i think i will take ages to understand every single of it. Anyway, picture says all...

I like this. I experienced it myself. Really need to have a build strong stamina to operate this thing. It's quite tiring and i personally tried it in few mins time. I start to perspiring.haha!




This is called the Water wheel.

Not to mentioned i need to highlight this particular pic. It's my ancestor building builed in a round shape. All the Hakka people stay together under the same root. It's a very big community.The province is located at Fujian,China based on the description from the display miniature.

They are often referred to as the "Jews of China." (stated by the wikipedia).





It's raining cats and dogs throughout the tour in the village and XP got many mosquitoes bite. We also need to keep our umbrella open.

Mm...it's a good experience going through the tour. I think this tour is worth while compared to the window of the world.hehe!

Lastly, a reflection photos taken from the raindrops and i'm loving it.

Shenzhen Trip

Pardon me for the long delay post. Kinda lazy to blog nowadays. Gonna be slacker soon enough *grins*. Let me continue my post about the trip to china before I proceed to my post on 25th b’day.

We (XP&myself) took an evening bus from Guangzhou bus station to Longgang(which is outside of Shenzhen). It’s a new growing industrial and residential area. We was welcomed by XP’s auntie (father’s cousin). Long distance relationship but yet their relationship is close. The journey took us 2hours and we slept throughout the journey.

So, once we reached, the first thing I saw is JUSCO!Which is something familiar I can find in M’sia.haha!So, I quickly take out the camera and took a picture of it..

After unloading our luggage at her aunt’s place, we went for dinner nearby. It’s a walking distance restaurant and we had Hunan’s dinner on that night.Y Hunan is because they are from Hunan and XP misses the food there.. It’s a welcome treat from her auntie.Let’s see the combined pictures. Too many photos dy so I console everything in a box. It’s looks delicious right?haha!

We had the appetizer seasoned cucumber with a bit chili taste. It tastes refreshing.

Then we have a pot of soup. Very nice hot soup with wakame and chicken in it. Sorry I forget the name of the soup.Had 3 bowls of soup. I’m soup lover in China.haha!Then we have this chicken liver cooked with their special kind of chili and it taste very Q. Like eating ‘chu du’. A bit spicy but overall nice when you goes with rice.

Followed by a special dish tasted like cucumber also but not cucumber. Seems doubting,rite?Anyway, i don't know wat is that but taste nice also.Then we had steamed fish head with their special chilli.Lastly is the fried tung hoon with chili also. I realised that Hunan ppl love to eat chilli and almost all the dishes to go with the chilli.

Basically after the dinner, we had a rest and enjoyed China TV shows. I find that China TV programmes advertisement can lasts around 15mins and more. Really lots of repeated advertisement and i kinda bored waiting for the drama to resume..

The following day, we went to Window of the World located at Shenzhen.It's actually the theme park featuring miniature-scale famous landmarks of the world. The entrance fees RMB120.00 needed to pay before we can step into the theme park. World of illussion...

This fun place is a collection of famous world sites in miniature. If you don't have time (can't afford ) to visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris , the Taj Mahal in Dehli or the Pyramids, then you can see them all (in mini) here in an afternoon! The miniature Niagara Falls are more than 80 meters wide and over 10 meters deep and the noise of the water rushing here is deafening.

Too bad the weather sucks on Aug and it's rainning seasons.My umbrella on gear all the time..My shoes & socks are wet the whole time.So geli!!hehe!

Sorry that i can't explain in details of all miniatures there which i intended initially but i know i;m a slacker so i think will take me months to settle down a proper tour of splendid china post. So, i rather u guys go and explore yourself there when you have the chance to drop by Shenzhen.

We took the whole afternoon touring around and end up get cheated RMB50 coz there is a guy who offer to help us take photos and introducing the miniatures there. So, we are lazy to look at the map so we find that the price is reasonable so we go ahead accept the offer. But then the tour doesn't last for 2hrs. It was a quick tour. One of the reason partly we need a photographer since China ppl are not friendly one.They dun wanna offer help to strangers. Maybe they also wanna protect themselves. So end up we feel like got cheated.Damn...

After the touring, we met up with XP fren which is her schoolmate. He is working in Shenzhen and he offered us dinner somewhere in Shenzhen. It was quite a famous restaurant and he got special offer for that. Seems like he is a regular customer there.

The dishes we ordered..We have thick noodle with seasoned chilli,chicken liver with special seasoning, fried fish with sweet and sour sauce, vegetable with salted vegetables and special fried bun with steamed bun and goes well with their special sauce (sweet butter taste). We ordered 2 plate of the bun. It's so much nicer than those we normally had in m'sia wedding dinner...

Not to mention the soup taste delicious. The soup is actually from crab egg with tofu and also eggs.The combination is so magnificent and it's yummy. It also goes well with steamed rice. I think China is very good at making soups..haha!

After the dinner, we took bus back to Longgang which took us 2 hours journey from Shenzhen. Guess wat the bus ticket is RMB10 which is approximately SGD2. So, we slept throughout the journey...

Guangzhou journey part 1

It has been a week since i back from china and i have not been updating my blog frequently. Pardon me as i fall sick and keep feeling dizzy and drowsy. I even took leave on wed to see doc.

I started my trip on 2nd August to Guangzhou. I need to wake up around 3am to get prepared and took a cab to budget terminal. I booked Tiger Airways at $380 for 2 way. I even spend $80.00 to do the one time china visa.

Upon reaching the budget terminal, i went to the counter to check in my luggage and waiting time to pass all by myself..

Luckily budget terminal has the internet zone for me to online at least 15mins. Why m i saying 15mins?It's because the settings shown every person is only limit to the stated period only. Anyway, better then nothing to do then...

Then walking around the terminal, i found something interesting...

There is a small corner stationed for kids perhaps to do some rub and scratch with the papers provided..

Then finally the time has arrived and i need to walk through this long passage to get myself to the flight..

Upon reaching guangzhou airport, we (XP and i) took the shuttle bus to the railway station of guangzhou. The journey costs us 16 yuan per pex..

Then followed by a cab to take us to the hotel we are going to stay. Furama Hotel. See how special the cab in China. I think they afraid robbery cases so it's all blocked and protection for the cab driver..

Along the way, i saw something interesting. i thought i can only see this in tv drama but it still exists after so many years..cool man..

It was 7pm when this picture taken and all the shops are closing down. So, we ended up stroll back to the hotel to get some rest so that we have energy to continue the journey for the next day..
