Lending Hand for Japan Disaster

Life is so fragile and disaster is keep striking every corner of the world and everyone is suffering here and there. We can do a little help by contributing within our ability to Red Cross.

You can contribute to Malaysia Red Crescent Society as well :-

There are many ways to make contribution so i was thinking to play my part as well.So every customers from Filmsnap who purchased cameras from us can contribute to the fund as well. We will take 10% of the total bill purchase to put in the fund to accumulate and made payable to above account.

Every little contribution helps and hope by doing so we can play our part as well.
"Sedikit-sedikit lama-lama jadi bukit"

Let's pray for Japan and be grateful that we are still living comfortable and safely here. There is no undo buttons in our life.I tend to think a lot especially seeing all the disasters happening and also the incident that happened to my dad and grandparents 2 days ago. It was so scary and it is totally unavoidable sometimes.Open your heart and help within your ability.

My dad and grandparents went to China for a week to pay a visit to my grandpa's brother and sister. They met an accident during the way to Shenzhen Airport way back to Singapore. Thank god that they are safe and sound except for not so serious injuries. My dad told us on that moment he was telling himself "Doomed this time!".He shared with us that if he die there, nobody will know as he was not local there.

My dad's head bleed a bit and worried that he got blood clot inside or internal injuries. He hurt his back and his knee was all swollen. He was limping when he reached home. My grandpa was protected by the air bag in the car and grandma back was affected as well then the Land Cruiser hit the back of the car.

Luckily they managed to catch the flight back to Singapore and arrived safely.Hopefully no side effect or internal injuries after their detail check ups.

A sudden thought that what comes around goes around. I believe in karma and i think we should play our part  to show your concern and care to the loved ones and those people who needed help. You will feel good too. Don't you?

What Love Really Means

What Love Really Means

Explore the foundation

When couples come to me for pre-marital counseling, I sometimes ask: "Why do you want to get married?" They always seem to give me the big reason; and the big reason is always the same. What do they say? "We love each other." Then I ask a very unfair question: "Tell me, What do you mean by that?" There is silence. Then, one will say, "Oh... you know!"

I guess maybe I do know. I think they are talking about a euphoric emotion that makes them oblivious to reality. They are the happiest they have ever been. What they don't know is that the euphoric feelings will last for two years and then they must find another foundation for marriage. Wouldn't it be better to explore that foundation before they get married?

What is love?
One definition says, "Love is the feeling that you feel when you feel a feeling like you've never felt before." If that is your definition of love, I can tell you, that kind of love will never lead you to a life-long marriage. The euphoric feels are temporary. It is interesting that in Eph. 5:25 husbands are commanded to love their wives. If the intense feelings of love were permanent, why would God command a husband to love his wife?

The fact is, they are not permanent and love is not a feeling, but an attitude, with appropriate behavior. Love is the attitude which says, "I'm married to you, so what can I do to help you? Love is choosing to be kind, and supportive. Is that your attitude?

Love as a way of life
Most people get married based on love. However their concept of love often focuses on feelings. I read one definition which said, "Love is a four-letter word composed of two consonants, L and V; two vowels, O and E; and two fools, you and me." There is some truth to that, and fools often make poor decisions.

In the Bible, love is not a euphoric feeling, but a way of life. In Titus chapter two the older women are instructed to teach the young wives to love their husbands. This implies that love can be learned. It is not something that happens to you. It is something you choose. Once you choose to love, then you look for appropriate ways to express it. This kind of love will lead you to a life-long productive marriage.

Learning to love
"I don't love her anymore." How many times have I heard that in my office! What is that supposed to mean? Usually, it means that he has lost the euphoric feelings he had for her when they got married. And that their differences have emerged and ended in arguments. The fact is, everyone loses the euphoric feelings. They usually last for only two years.

Then, we must learn to love. We must choose to treat each other with respect. We must listen to differences of opinion and try to find a solution. We must learn to work together as a team; using our differences for the benefit of the team. This attitude is commanded by God.

Love that makes marriage enjoyable
Would you like to know what love looks like in a marriage? Then, turn to I Corinthians chapter 13. Listen to these words: "Love is patient and kind; is not arrogant or rude; It does not insist on it's own way; it is not resentful; Love does not bring up past failures, but chooses to forgive." Does this describe your attitude and treatment of your spouse?

This is the kind of love that makes for happy marriages. Love focuses on meeting the needs of the spouse; helping them succeed; listening to their thoughts and feelings. In short, it is giving your life away for your spouse. That is precisely what Christ did for us, and it is what husbands are instructed to do for their wives. Love is powerful.

Lost Passport Experience

It has been a while since i updated my blog. Time flies and within these 3 months periods, many things happened and i hope time will heal the intense pain.

Wanna blog about my experience about lost of passport in Singapore. I found that my passport lost on last friday morning when i wanna pack my things to go back JB. So i need to file police report in Singapore and the police officer will issue the Lost Passport report for me and also informed ICA about the lost of passport as well.

Once i got the report, i headed to Malaysia Embassy in Singapore located at 301 Jervois Road (off River Valley Road) and vert isolated. It's located between the high end residential area. We can only take cab to reach there. So inconvenient.

Anyway, once i reached the HICOM, we need to exchange passes to enter. Since i lost my passport, i need to fill up the application for passport form which is same form as renewal passport form. I also need to take photo and photocopy the police report, IC Malaysia and my Singapore PR IC.Since this is my first time, i did not have all these with me and i had to paid SGD7 for the photos (4pcs) and also photocopy fees.

Once the application was filled up,i took the queue and went to the passport counter. The person in-charge checked all the details and process a temporary passport for me so that i can go back JB to do my new passport. The temporary passport cost me SGD21. Arghh...so expensive. I reached the HICOM to apply around 3.30pm and luckily the officers told me that i can get my temporary passport by 4.30pm. So with the temporary passport, we can go back JB to do our actual passport with another charges of RM300. That's the price to pay if passport is lost.

Since i'm PR in singapore, i will need to go ICA to do the re-entry permit for the temporary passport before i can finally go back JB using the temporary passport. There is charges for the fees as well.

So many procedures need to be done and most important u need to call police,ICA and HICOM to confirm all the proceduring stuffs as diff area has different of saying so everything must be double confirm.

Neverthless, i get to know the lost passport proceduring and gain experience from there. So, must be extra careful to keep ur things in place...
