Bangkok Travelogue: Reflections @ Terminal 21

We spent the last night dinner at Reflections @ Terminak 21.
The restaurant has colourful concepts with colourful decorations.
It serves modernize Thai's delicacies.

The white chairs are filled up with handwrittings and drawings.

The foods that we ordered:-

Seafood tom yam soup that we are tempted to it.
It is different taste from the one we had locally. I prefer this one!

This is something interesting. It is blended coconut water.
It is pure coconut drink taste.

Sticky rice with mango. The mango is soft and sweet.

Sticky rice with durian. It is very milky and the durian is a bit hard.
I don't really fancy it.
I still prefer their sticky rice and mango.

That marks the end of Bangkok trip with family.
It was a fruitful trip with lotsa food exposure.

Looking forward for the next trip with family.

Somboon Seafood,Bangkok

If you are going for Bangkok trip, you have to dine in at one of the famous Somboon Seafood in Bangkok. It is one of the best seafood restaurant in town. There only have 5 branches in Bangkok and do not be confuse with the fake Somboon Seafood restaurant.

We were brought to the fake one by the tuk tuk driver and insists to charge us double for the fare. It is so ridiculous! We insisted to go to the real Somboon and no choice to pay them extra. You can see the huge difference of the real Somboon and the fake ones because the fake ones are very quiet. No customers at all.

Somboon Seafood is so famous that even the Japan royalties dine in before.
So why not give it a try when you are in town?

You can see the crowd and the customers are non-stop. We were in the waiting list for 30-45minutes before we can step into the restaurant. You can imagine how good the business is...

Peking Duck 700Baht. The price is a bit pricey but it is worthwhile to give it a try on the taste. Totally not a disappointing one. The skin is crispy and was nicely sliced well to go with the crepe and sauce.

Asparagus with scallop with price range 100-200 Baht.

Peking Duck meat that was suggested by the staff to fried it. It taste tasty when served hot. But as the dish becomes cold, the meat is a bit hard to chew. So it will be better to have it while it is pipping hot.

Stirred fried "Yod Mara" in oyster sauce 100-150 Baht depending on the size S or L.

Steamed Fish 300-400 Baht. It is nicely done and served hot.
As long as the fish is fresh and bit of effort on the cooking skill will totally make the fish a worthwhile dish to enjoy. The soup base is totally awesome to go with the fish meat and not to mention with the plain rice as well. My sis finished everything!

Pineapple Fried Rice 300Baht which is just nice for 2 pax. It is yummy! It is totally different taste from the one we had locally in Singapore or Malaysia. Perhaps the rice that they use and also the ingredients that they use to cook the dish. The pineapple blend into the rice and brings out the fragrance taste of the rice.

Grilled Seabass with salt.Price range from 300-400 Baht depending on the fish size. The fish is a bit dried but it was nicely grilled. I don't really enjoyed it as the fish is a bit bland. However, if you dips it with their specialty sauce, the taste will give you another thought.

Fried Original Curry Crab. 120Baht per 100g for size S and 135Baht per 100g for Jumbo Size. The meat is fresh and their curry sauce is not spicy at all. The crab meat dips with the sauce was a perfect combination.

Overall the dinner is enjoyable and the price is reasonable. The staffs are very responsive and the dishes are served within 20 minutes. I would say that the standard of the dishes were on par value with the reviews mentioned by bloggers.

So if you are heading to Bangkok, perhaps you could want to give it a try.

Bangkok Travelogue: Chatuchak Market

Chatuchak (or Jatujak; Thai: จตุจักร)weekend market in Bangkok is the largest market in Thailand. Finally get the chance to explore the local foods in the market. There are many stalls selling similar stuffs along the road and we can bargain the price.

Love this handmade painting done by the local street artist.

First stop we have the coconut ice-cream.
It is pure coconut taste and comes with the coconut drink.

You can add toppings on the coconut ice-cream to make the taste even better and refreshing.
We added nata de coco in as well.

We also tried their local soup with the intenses pigs. It is just located along the stalls and it is delicious. Pipping hot served and it suits our taste buds as well.

While waiting for the traditional coffee to ready, took picture of my sisters.
Get the meaning of the picture? "Speak no devil, See no devil, Hear no devil".

The coffee was made from the original way as the coffee maker will grind the coffee bean from it's traditional tools. It's my first time to see such traditional way of doing business.Perhaps not in city area. But the coffee was fragrance and taste good too. I don't usually fancy coffee but this one really perks me up.

Then we came across the stalls selling pork leg(knuckle) and my dad insisted to try.
So we ordered a plate to try without rice because rice is very filling.

Tasty meat texture with the ready sauce.

See how rich the knuckle displayed at the stall..
.It makes my saliva drooling while typing it out..

Next we came across this roasted meat. The stall was selling them like hot cakes. We ordered some to try on the spot and it is extremely crispy and meaty too. It goes very well with their chilli sauce.

See how tasty it can be with the photos of my sister tasting it?hehe!

After all the tasting, we are thirsty and we headed to try their coconut drink.

Another recommendation from sis. The squid eggs.
It is fried together and served with their local chilli.Super tasty and fresh also.
You will get the picture when u scroll down for the next photo below.

We also ordered their local ice milk tea to try.
The taste is alike breadtalk milk tea except it has heavier taste instead.

There goes the trip to Chatuchak market where we filled our stomach from the beginning til the end of the market. We did some shopping too as some of the stuffs are quite cheap to purchase. But i think the local foods there are quite delicious and price are reasonable too.
