Saveur @ Purvis Street

It was a birthday week cum festive holidays last weekend.Pik Har was in town over the weekend and I am in luck. She treated me for lunch and we headed to Saveur after our tour from Garden By The Bay. I always wanted to try it as the cafe serves affordable french foods  and I heard many reviews about it. The cafe does not allow reservations and long queue when my sister went over on Friday night. So Pik Har and I tried our luck on Saturday and we waited for around 15minutes to get a seat in the afternoon session.

They served lunch menu with available choices from starters, soups, mains, premiums, sides and desserts. My choice of the day : Confit of Duck with Orange Segments and Saute Shittake @ S$9.90
The serving was just nice. The mash potatoes are soft and and smooth. The confit duck meat tender is soft and tender as well.I love the taste of the saute shiitake as i blend it with the mashed potato.Overall it is tasty and affordable dish.

Crispy Pork Belly with Poached Egg and diced vegetables @ S$10.90
The pork belly is crispy especially the skin. The egg yolk burst out and it just flow beautifully around the diced vegetables and the pork belly meat. It's not extremely awesome but it is affordable price with the serving as well.

We ended our lunch with a nice dessert, chocolate and hazelnut. It is a new dessert for us. The crunchy hazelnut bits and the appearance desserts makes me feel loved. It is sinful and sweet but the amount served was just nice for both of us. I am happy with my choice of dessert.

Not forgetting we ordered the all time favourite Angel Hair Pasta with Sherry Minced pork and sakura Ebi @ S$3.90.
This is truly affordable and definitely a must order dish. The pasta is very Q and guess what we just can't get enough of it. Basically every table served at least per serving of the pasta.

It's definitely a good place for affordable French foods. If you looking for budget-conscious place and would love to try french cuisine, you can try this cafe. It is a maiden experience if you don't mind queuing for the foods. The staffs are efficient and the serving time is within 20 minutes. It is walking distance between City Hall MRT and also Bugis MRT.

Nando's Affair

Had Nando's for brunch on last Saturday with Peanut. She said she never try Nando's before so here we are at one of the branch at Plaza Singapura. There is an on-going promotion " Fly to London" which ends on 22nd July 2012. And we are eligible to participate with any purchase of chicken meal with drinks in a single receipt.

We ordered 1/4 chicken meal with 2 side orders at our own choice. Both of us ordered mild peri-peri and it's my favourite all time. The meat texture is tender and the skin is crispy. My saliva is drooling while I am typing now.

Date of the morning session.
We have not met for 6 months and due to my hectic schedule in life. I feel bad keep postponing the dates. Basically i postpone many dates due to my hectic workload. Arggh...miss the life i had in previous job.

Neverthless it keeps me busy whole day and don't even have time to be emo again.
It was a pleasant brunch date as we update on each other life daily and plans ahead. I am happy for her as she is going to break through a new path soon.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly for her!

Wild Honey @ Scotts Square

It has been a hectic weekend for me. I traveled to KL last Thursday night and back to Singapore on Saturday noon and back JB in the evening. It was totally an hectic weekend and here I am back to Singapore on Sunday morning.

Peanut Walnut aka Pik Har spend her long weekend in JB & Singapore. Thus, we met up for shopping and sight seeing. I always wanted to try Wild Honey as I heard many good reviews from website and bloggers.

We headed to the branch located at Scotts Square. It was full house when we walk in around 11am and needed to leave down my contact for my turn. So we went shopping around and headed back after the call in about 45 mins.
Wild Honey is a popular brunch, lunch and well dinner place. The interior design was awesome and english home style. There are floral mismatched couches and dim lighting. It is very comfortable cosy place to laze around over the weekend. Basically from the menu, you can see eggs in each of the dishes.

European Breakfast SGD18
PH ordered European breakfast which consists of eggs Benedict with two perfectly poached eggs, sauteed mushrooms, imported Italian prosciutto and home made Hollandaise sauce on signature brioche. Well, the portion looks tiny, the set is actually quite filling. PH finished up the first portion and need to rest a while before can finish up the second one.

English Breakfast SGD22
I ordered English Breakfast which is totally awesome and filling. I had difficulties finishing up the serving. Scrambled eggs, back bacon, cumberland pork sausages, sauteed mushrooms,Dad's baked beans, breakfast potatoes, grilled wine ripened tomato & signature brioche. I love the taste of the tomato and the scrambled eggs are creamy smooth. The bread is soft and totally filling once you finish a slice of it.

Breakfast Potatoes with fresh thyme SGD3
I admit i am a bit greedy to order ala-carte but i have the craving of potatoes. So I ordered this to try. It is totally awesome! It is nicely done and fragrance.

We ordered a pot of tea- Lemon Verbena SGD6 which is the recommendation of the staff. It is fragrance and you can taste the lemon in it. We poured a bit of honey into the tea and immediately lift up the taste of the tea.
Lovely moments

Awesome brunch of the day. The staffs there are very efficient and there is always a smile on their face. As for the price wise, it is still affordable to pamper and indulge with dream breakfast.

Marina Bay Sands Sight Seeing

On the First Day of May, we headed to The Helix Bridge and marina bay sands shopping mall for sight seeing and of course p.har favourite place, Bugis shopping spree. Her intention to release stress and shop at Bugis and finally her wish has been fulfilled. Photos below taken by P.har Canon Camera:-

Pardon my eyes very small.I know and i tried to open as big as i could to take pic. That's why i don't like to take picture under the sun and in the afternoon.Totally unglam.

After that, we headed to Bugis to start shopping spree. I do not have plans to shop just a companion to P.har but in the end bought a dress after much consideration. Before we start shopping at Bugis Street, we filled our stomach first and saw there is a promotion for One to One lunch at Billy Bombers so we decided to give it a taste.

It's very rare now to see coke in a bottle and P.har wanted to take back home.It usually comes in a can instead.

Roasted Chicken with Mashed Potato

Fish & chips with extra large fries.

See how 'big' size the fries are

Lastly a group pic of us and we headed off shopping at bugis street before headed back JB.Luckily no jam on our way back and reach home just on time for dinner.

Nuts dinner @ El migos

It was a long weekend last week and P.har aka walnut (member of nut's family) was here in JB with the bf. So we arranged to meet up with Wanteng aka peanut and her husband and son.I was late for the date for an hour as i was stucked in jam at customs. Lotsa walking as all the buses and cars are stucked not moving at all.

As i was late and it was already 8pm,we randomly choose a restaurant in Taman Sutera Mall and it was a wrong decision after all. So we are not going to patronize the restaurant anymore although the ambience was ok.

Since Wanteng and her family has taken their dinner, so p.har and i decided to order two dishes to fill our hungry stomach.
Thin Crusted Chicken Mushroom Pizza
This is supposed to be maraconi with baked cheese. It came wrongly for the first time and we waited half an hour for the correct order to be served but in the end they still served spagethi. We were so annoyed with it and do not want to wait anymore for the order to be retify and we decided to go ahead with the spagethi.

We are extremely unpleased and they haven't started to prepare when we asked one of the waiter and she came back asking us the size of macaroni we want. In the end, macaroni became spagethi instead.

And the foods there are so-so only. Not worth patronizing here.
Spagethi with baked cheese
Few photos taken that night just a prove that we all meet up and show it to other nuts.hehe.Time flies and wanteng son, Jackson already 2 years old.

Group photo of the day
Followed by meet up with Justin and Daphne at Mount Austin for "lok lok".

Ended the day with lok lok at a drizzling night and headed back home and sleep. We went to Singapore early morning next day as P.har wants to go Bugis for her shopping spree
