Dinner @ Manna Story, Plaza Singapura

Finally got the photos from cousin, Carmen.
It's our September's cousin gathering again. This time round we have new addition member in town. So they decided to have Korean foods @ Manna Story, Plaza Singapura.

Photos of the interior restaurant credited to Alex.

The restaurat have a homely decorations feel with pots of artificial flowers and garden designs on the walls. The surroundings are very comfortable but the seats are quite limited and narrow. We are not satisfied with the service crews as they do not have smile on their face while serving us. They are not prompt to the services as well. We waited for more than 15 minutes and asked for the ice water to be served. They are not friendly service crews as well.

Photos below credit to Carmen's Olympus camera:-

We used soft lens filter to capture our photos :)

There are 4 side dishes for each set of main course we ordered from the menu.
The side dishes are refillable but in the end the crews are not prompt to refill them for us.

Foods that we ordered that night:-

Yukgaejang (Spicy beef soup) @ S$12.80 per serving. The soup is very spicy for us but the overall dishes are acceptable. The dishes are served hot and it makes the foods taste good!

Kimchi Jeon (Kimchi Pancake) @$7.80 per serving.
Just a simple pancake with added kimchi flavor.
Tasteless i would say for the pancake.

Alex's choice : Bibim Naeng Myeon (Buckwheat noodles with spicy sauce) @$11.80 per serving. Feedback from Alex blog: The noodles is too soft and sticky as if it had been over-cooked while those spicy sauce though not really spicy, do not really taste well inside my mouth. I didn't get to taste it so i cannot comment on the taste wise.

Bibim Bab (Steamed Rice mixed with assorted vegetables and Beef) @$11.80 per serving. Striking hot serving and taste like bibimbab. Haha! I love the half raw eggs as it blend well into the hot pipping rice and the vegetables. Delicious for me although it is very spicy for me.

We ordered another type of pancake to serve as ala carte.
Pa Jeon (Spring Onion Pancake) @$7.80 per serving. The spring onion pancake taste better although the overall taste is tasteless.
Thanks to the spring onion that added into the taste of the plain pancake.

Sundubu Chigae (Soft Beancurd Soup) @$11.00 per serving.Rachel's choice as she wants to have less meat consuming. It's basically beancurd mixed with vegetables and blend into the kimchi soup base.

Dinner was pleasant with cousins companion. We had bonding session together and share laughter together. New member of the gathering this time and we are looking forward for more members to join us.

Took a group photo to mark the end of the gathering of the night :)

Post Celebration for Angel @ Hangang Korean Restaurant

This post happened on 20th July which i know it is superb outdated. Pardon me being slow like a tortoise updating my blog. I been busy working OT almost everyday. So my youngest sis was telling us that her 18th birthday will be very plain because it happens on weekdays and we are not at home to celebrate for her. So we (my 2 other sisters and me) decided to have a post birthday celebration for her on friday night.
Rachel bought a deal for the dinner celebration. The name of the restaurant of this place is not the same as the name stated in the deal voucher that she purchased. It's named HanKang Korean BBQ Restaurant on the deal but the signage outside the restaurant is named HanGang restaurant.
It's kinda disappointing when i arrive the place. It is reachable by taking MRT to Little India Station and Exit A to reach the restaurant. It is a short walking distance when you exit from Exit A and basically the restaurant is located at the back lane. It's not easy to be notice as you don't expect the restaurant is near to the dustbins and rubbish at the back lane.

The foods are totally disappointing as well. You can see from the picture by yourself. The food varieties are limited as well. The pancake is simply tasteless and the noodles are like maggi mee taste only. There are flies flying around the serving table and you need to be alert to shake them all away so that you can have your dinner.

Basically i only eat BBQ chicken with white rice for the whole dinner. The frozen chicken and pork are the only choice that i can go for to have my dinner.

One thing to note that the place is not air-condition and only ceiling fans and standing fans to support the ventilation area.

The space between the tables are quite squeezy as well.
We don't really enjoyed the dinner.
So we headed to Bugis+ (formerly known as Illuma) for movie treat to the birthday girl. We watched Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter which ended around 11 plus and i managed to catch the last bus back to home. Luckily still can save money on the cab fare :p

We watched the movie at FilmGarde and had bad experience with the staff attitude. Nevertheless the management has provided us a complimentary movie ticket as a token of appreciation on the feedback. It was quite a surprised for us that they do really value customers' feedback and provide the appropriate action over it.

Ended my post with my sis grumpy face as she can't watch the movie she wanted that night. Oh man... time flies! She is a big girl now!

Happy Mother's Day @ 食客The Korean Family Restaurant

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

We had our early mother's day celebration 2 weeks ago when my dad is out of town. Ladies in the house and off we went for Korean cuisine at taman pelangi. It was recommended by mum 2 years back. This is our second time to the restaurant and surprisingly it's full house. I remembered the last visit was a quiet restaurant. We waited for almost 30 minutes to get a place to dine in. So it will be best to make reservation before headed down to restaurant.

Foods that we ordered that night:-

Fried dumplings / Korean rice cake/ Seafood pancakes/ Grilled saba/ sliced pork and beef to be grilled and wrapped with lettuce/ side orders

The slice pork and beef was tender and nicely grilled and we wrapped it with the special sauce and garlic slice with lettuce. Superb!!

Brought along instax camera and we had photo snapping that night.
Laurel and Angel is checking out the instax photos.

Photos below is our end result :)

Happy Mother's Day to Grandma, Mummy and God mum!
Hope they are in pink health as always!
I am not good in words when it comes to mushy words but i hope everything goes smoothly for them. My sisters and I were already out working in the society and only left my youngest sister at home with my parents. My home is quiet during weekdays and parents are expecting us to go back over the weekend. So i will always try to go back home after work on friday. Seeing my parents growing older and it really heart breaks that my sisters and I unable to accompany them most of the time. My mum is always our pillar of strength regardless for anything. Her love is unconditionally and selflessness. She just want the best of us and helped us whichever way she could.

I love you, Mum!

Some words are meant to say out sometimes at the right timing. But it takes a courage to speak it out and let the party feel how you truly feel. I know i can't speak it in front of my mum so i used another way to express it.

As years go by, i felt the time is precious especially time spent with family members. Each of us have different time and it takes effort and initiative to get relationships and bonding to get closer and maintain the way it is. That's the unconditional of love. Never forget the families love because there is a point in your life where you face obstacles or decisions, it's parents who guide and be there for you.

Fei's Birthday Celebration

We had early birthday celebration for Ah Fei last saturday. His actual birthday is 2 days later. Thanks to his best buddy, Mr Yap who has arranged everything for him. He recommended us the Modern Revelation Restaurant located at Taman Molek for the gathering. This restaurant consists of Japanese BBQ,Shabu-shabu,steak & teppanyaki choices.Well recommended by some of the bloggers (based on mr yap).

Random photos taken while everyone busy preparing to grill the ingredients to start the feast...

Everyone busy grilling
The foods that we ordered. The beef cube, lamb shank is very juicy and tender. The grilling part is also important because overcooked is not nice. The pork belly was sliced too thin and basically does not feel anything when we put into the mouth. Overall is acceptable.

The Varieties
The seafood plate which consists of different type of fishes, squid and imitation abalone sliced. The squid is very Q.

Seafoods Varieties
Ala carte~which is tasty. Good combination

The process~

After our main course, here comes the birthday cake for the birthday boy.The name of the cake : macadania nut cake from Lavendar

The card that i made in favour from ah yap. Luckily everyone likes it and i feel glad that it does not turned out to be a mess instead. Too bad cannot see the 3d effect that i made.
Just to clarify the middle choco thing in the card, it is not hamburger. It's macaron.
